This one is supposed to be difficult so broad hints first; it's in Bohemia and it's near a river...

I'm thinking a spa town but it's nothing I recognise...

It is a spa town, but that's not the only reason regular readers of this blog will have heard its name...

Ostrava? Just kidding. Not sure because I have not been to any of the spa towns and there are so many. Could it be Poděbrady? A river does run through it.

It is Poděbrady; well done Mike.

The rotunda in the picture is about halfway along the wide park that connects the train station to the main square, where a huge horseback statue of King George of Poděbrady watches over the ice-cream-licking spa patients and daytripping motorcyclists from Germany.
