Looks like this one has everyone stumped, I am sure I have been there but cant think where it is! First I thouht Litomerice bu I know it isnt....tough one, any clues?
Grr, I thought your clues would make it easybut I am still stumped! Its obviously not one of the two most famous minign towns - Krumluv or Kutna Hora and its not Pribram, Kladno, Most, Chomutov or Pisek. I know I have been to, or at least past this place... By the way its so typival that the first time when I log on before it has already been answered (usually by one of the Michaels!) I dont know it!!!
Ok, let's see. The first time I saw this place, I was going past it too. And if I was writing about it, I'd be referring at least briefly to World War II...

It's in Bohemia, beside a river, and has a mining history...

I am lost on this one. Guess I have been distracted by our governor's sex scandal. Need to do some research.
Can't hint much more without serving it up to you...
It's the town of Stribro near Plzen - used to be a silver mining area and Patton's Third Army swung by in 1945...
Another bullseye, Brett! Well done.
This view is from right beside the train tracks of the line that runs from Plzen up towards Marianske Lazne and Cheb.
