Could it be Krásná Lípa? Just thinking of your recent trip to the that area and some of the architecture looks similar, at least to my untrained eye. Perhaps it is from Silesia but I never explored that region, except crossing the river in Ostrava into the Silesia half of the city.
I see the resemblance you mean, Mike, but it's not Krasna Lipa or anywhere nearby. (Trying to mix the cycle trip photos up with others not to make it too easy...)
The hint about Dušan Jurkovič helped, is it the old mill in Peklo Valley? Not sure who Havel brought to the pub. Was it a politician or musician? Perhaps the Stones performed "Sympathy for the Devil" in "hell?"
Well done Mike. It is Peklo, just outside Nove Mesto nad Metuji. In the ealry nineties, Havel met the Polish premier (or president?) Alexandr Kwasniewski there. So far no Where the Czech has gone unsolved, but I must admit, I was starting to have my doubts about this one. Let's see how you go with this week's...

It looks very familiar. Is it perhaps somewhere on the Ohre river?
Nice try. It's near a river, but not that one...
Bugger - perhaps my memory was affected by all the rum and kofola we had consumed on the way there in our canoes.
Too much Kofola will do that ;-)

A hint then?
It's a pub, and Vaclav Havel once took an important visitor there...

Has any 'Where in the Czech" gone unsolved?
