Does anybody know which town or city in the Czech Republic this view belongs to?

Kutna Hora?

Sorry, neither of those...

First hint is that it doesn't start with a 'K' ;-)

Clearly, I've lost my touch.
This one needs a bit more thought. Hmmm...

I am not sure. Could it be Mikulov? How about a hint, Bohemia or Moravia?

I thought it might be tough one.

It's not Mikulov, nor any of the other places we've already covered with Where the Czech.

I doubt you're losing your touch, Michael H. Everyone has an area of the country they know best, and it's been a while since there's been a photo from your part.

And by way of a hint, let's say that this one is a long way from Liberec...

it's not Litomysl again, is it? That could be the chateau from a strange real angle.

oops - i missed that last post.

No Worries, Mr Icarus. It's not Trebic either ;-)

It took some web searching and exploring, but is it Namest nad Oslavou?

Captain Oddsocks said...

It sure is. Very well done!

For anyone who's wondering, Namest nad Oslavou is about 20km from Trebic in the direction of Brno. If you're travelling by bus across South Moravia, you can see this chateau over the valley as the bus pulls in to collect passengers at the Namest n.Oslavou bus station.

So even the tough ones get solved in about two days now! What am I going to come up with for next week...?

Something from the other side of the country, I hope ;)

Will see what I can do...;-)

Dear Captain and his friends;
I am new to your blog but have really enjoyed your writing, photos and the others who often contribute. I have been to CZ 6 or 7 times since 2000 and lived in Olomouc for 5 months as a Fulbright scholar in early 2005. I guess it was my DNA calling me home. Perhaps our paths crossed without knowing it. I can tell we ate at many of the same pubs and restaurants including Cafe 87 and Pod Limpau. Your video of the bike ride was great, I lived in the university apartments on Vancurcova and often walked in the park and around that area. My blog from that time is online at http://millie.furman.edu/weblogs/svec/. Pardon the typos and spelling mistakes, often I was writing in the evening after the pub. Thanks again, your writing brings back many great memories.
