Where the Czech...? #27

This week's picture could be a tough one to put a name to. Unless you've been there, in which case it should be a walk in the park, so to speak ;-)

that'd be Sovinec i reckon - home of some medieval fair i went to.

when you were walking along the path you had to stop/dodge the knife throwing / arrow firing stalls which were operating across them.

OH&S would have had a field day.

Sovinec it is. For those who don;t recognise it, Sovinec castle is in the lower Jesenik mountains, In northern Moravia.

The castle itself is perhaps most notorious due to its role as a prison for enemies of the Nazis from 1938-45.

More happily, the surrounding village of the same name is known for the well-respected photographer who worked there for many years, Jindrich Streit.
