Where the Czech...? #8

I took this photo a couple of days ago, and it might be the last sunshiney autumn photo I'll be taking for a while. It's supposed to be 18 C. here today, but the forecast for Friday is a maximum of 8, with sleet and rain. Hello winter!

Does anybody know where this church is?

I think you've got everybody stumped with this one el capitan.

Yep, it doesn't look like you'll be needing those doorknob photos after all...

yeah - the paint job and design look partially like one in Olomouc, but I can't picture the angle or surroundings. Well done Captain.

Well, today turned out not to be too bad after all, weatherwise. It was cold, but the sleet and rain stayed away. Where I was, anyway, which was back in the city where I took this week's photo.
Why did I go back?-to see an interesting historical sight that's only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday at this time of year. I went past that church (cathedral actually) again a couple of times; it's in the old town, right where I like to hop off the public transport from the train station...

Are we in Prerov? (sorry can't get the accented r where I am), maybe not, it's an easy walk to town from the cavernous train station....

Sorry Xu Xu, you're heading in the right direction, but need to go further...

Valmez? Or is that in the wrong direction?

Past Prerov? As far as I know Zlin doesn't have a cathedral, and it doesn't look like anything in Kromeriz. Holesov?

None of those...Nice tries though.
Do you want keep guessing, or should I just tell you, now that there's a new one to work on? What about another hint? In film, music and literature, the city is often connected with a particular colour, but to tell you which colour would give it away too easily.

The colour hint had me guessing for a while but you've well and truly got me on this one.

Your post about Ostrava gave the game away...eventually. The colour's black, the church is the Cathedral of the Divine Saviour. At least, I think it is.
